Newborns and Maternity

Newborn sessions are my joy and my passion. Those sweet brand new little angels are my muse. Photographing them makes my day and I take special care to make each and every newborn session personal and unique just for you. I spend some time every day learning to perfect my craft. Hopefully this little section will help you to prepare for your session as well.

It is never too early to get on the calendar.  I can only fit in so many newborns a month so please don’t wait too long!  The ideal time to take pictures of your new little one is between 5-10 days old.  I recommend putting a date on the calendar based off of your expected due date and then adjust if he or she arrives early or late.  There is a $50 deposit due to book a date.  This is a non-refundable deposit.

Parents and siblings are welcome in any full newborn session.  When siblings are involved, I recommend staring with them and allowing them to leave with another family member so the majority of the session can be focused on the baby.

Prices are subject to change at any time.  Once a date is on the calendar and a deposit is paid, your rate is locked in.

 

In-Studio Newborn Session

I try and make each newborn session unique and personalized just for you while still maintaining the same session flow which proves to be successful. My studio offers a ton of natural light where we will keep your little one warm and comfy so they will hopefully “sleep like a baby” while we dress them up and pose them. I have props, backdrops, wraps, headbands, buckets, baskets and just about anything else you can think of.

Full Newborn Session – $450 or $600 for all-inlcusive

  • Parent and sibling shots included.
  • Up to a 3 hour session – this is a very relaxed session and allows us time for feedings, diaper changes and rest time between poses.
  • 20 images included with your package (All images included with the all-inclusive option.)
  • Online gallery for viewing and sharing your images ONE week after your session

Newborn Minis – $300

This is a 1 hour in-studio session. This session includes 5 digital images. Additional digitals are available for purchase. You will typically be choosing from 10-15 images. Online gallery for viewing and sharing your images ONE week after your session.

There are now two options for mini sessions.

  1. Baby ONLY! The hour will be spent in the newborn room with all my props and wraps.
  2. Family ONLY! The hour will be spent in the main shooting room capturing family and sibling pictures. I will snap 1-2 individual pictures of the baby wrapped if time allows but will not be posing or using multiple props.

In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session – $450 or $600 for all inclusive

A lifestyle session is very natural and I try and capture life as it is happening.  I like to use the master bedroom and the nursery and another other room that catches my eye.  This session includes more of the family and the home.  These are non-posed, yet guided sessions.

Travel fees apply for any home outside of a 10 mile radius of Crystal Lake.  Ask me for details.

*Something to keep in mind for an in-home session is lighting.  Lighting is everything!  If you have a dark home, the pictures may not turn out like you desire.   In home is 100% natural light only and we CANNOT turn on lamps.   Window light only.

This is a pay as you go plan.  The $150 sign-up fee will cover the deposit for the 3 remaining sessions.  Benefits to the club include:

  • At the end of the first year, you will have 4 full galleries of cohesive images.  Perfect for displaying your favorite from each session together.
  • You lock in today’s rates for ALL of the milestone sessions.
  • You receive a FREE family half session during the second year. ($250 value)

Minimum requirements to be part of the club:

  • $150 sign up fee to cover deposits
  • $225 remaining balance for your tummy time half session
  • $225 remaining balance for your sitter half session
  • $275-$305 remaining balance for your full custom birthday session

Maternity

Add on a full maternity session to any newborn session and save $50!  A half maternity session would be $225 (12 images) and a full session would be $325 (20 images).
